Talk It Out
Fact :
It helps to be heard!
People are not meant to do life alone, which is why we are drawn to be a part of a community – but everyone is different in what they need and seek.
Community can come in the form of family, a close group of friends, co-workers, a support group, or a counseling program.
If you are taking the time to read this, chances are you are choosing not to walk your path of grief alone ~ and that is good!
Even if they are loving and intuitive, the people around us cannot read our minds.
So take the time to be honest with those around you who love you and who matter to you.
Tell them how you are feeling and what kind of support might be helpful to you during the coming holidays.
If you don’t know what you’ll need, that is okay too!
People will understand and more often than not, they will want to help in whatever way they can and will be honored that you reached out to ask them for support.
If you find that you need to talk to someone who is also walking the path of life as a bereaved parent, or if you need to connect with a professional counselor, reach out to us at Blue Water Hope and we will help you to find someone who is wiling to listen and who understands what you are feeling.
