Anxiety
Fact :
The anxiety leading up to an event or special date is almost always worse than the actual day itself.
The weeks leading up to a holiday or anniversary date are tough.
Thoughts and feelings will bombard us in the weeks prior to a big day.
We can find ourselves wondering how we will feel and how to interact with those around us.
We can feel nervous about trying to juggle the very normal feelings of grief while also longing for the holidays that once were.
We may worry about how to support our loved ones who are walking through this grief journey with us while we are still struggling ourselves.
But please know that any anxieties that may surface in the weeks leading up to a holiday often feel bigger and much worse than how you will actually feel on the holiday itself.
The feeling of anxiety is meant to protect us and to motivate us.
So if you are feeling anxious this season, ask yourself these questions…
How can I protect my heart during the holidays?
What can I do to help me walk through the coming months?
